ESPN’s Lauren Sisler moderated a compelling conversation with U.S. Senator Tim Kaine on the need for bipartisan solutions to address addiction. U.S. Representatives Madeleine Dean and Maxine Dexter further emphasized the critical role of federal investment in mental health and addiction research. Eleven TSC member institutions showcased how federal research funding is transforming care and improving outcomes.
The event drew staff from a wide array of congressional offices, including those of Majority Leader Thune, Minority Leader Schumer, and other Senators such as Boozman, Fetterman, Kaine, Markey, Murray, Peters, Rounds, and Wyden, as well as staff from the Senate HELP and Judiciary Committees and key U.S. House offices. Participating health advocacy organizations included Children’s Hospital, Caregiver Action Network, and Shatterproof.
